Poetry: I Burn

Here is another early poem of mine that wasn't quite as good as I would have liked it to be. Still, it is creative and original to say the least.

I Burn…

I would give up the sunset

So I might gaze on your face,

Along with the touch

Of the hand I embrace.

You accept me for me,

For on you I rely

To hold my heart true,

As an arrow through the sky.

Just seeing you now,

Causes my feelings to kindle

Into a burning inferno

That doesn't seem to dwindle.

When I fall from high places,

I fall into your care.

For long ago, dear fox,

My heart you did ensnare.

I have one thing left to say

Oh, apple of my eye.

That last thing is simply

Time to say goodbye.
